Aliso Defeats Norwalk To Reach Semifinals

By Mike Daniels, 05/19/21, 8:30PM PDT

Aliso Niguel played its first road contest in the CIF playoffs on Wednesday afternoon and controlled play from the outset, defeating Norwalk, 3-0.

The Wolverines had plenty of early chances with Luis Sanchez hitting the crossbar, and Sawyer Sachen having a chance inside the box.  Duncan Carvahlo finally broke through for Aliso with a header that found the back of the net after a Ryan Mann throw-in with just four minutes remaining in the first half.  Aliso took the 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half, Aliso controlled action once again with Sawyer Sachen giving the Wolverines some breathing room with a breakaway goal at the 22-minute mark.  It is Sachen's ninth goal of the season.

The nail in the coffin came with just over five minutes remaining in the contest as Zach Daniels found Carter Futami on a break and Futami finished the connection with his second goal of the season.

Aliso moves on to the semifinal round on Saturday, May 22 and will face Valencia High of Placentia at 1pm at Valencia.
