The Aliso Boys Varsity Soccer team saw their season come to a close on Tuesday night, suffering a 2-1 loss to St. Augustine of San Diego.  Aliso reached the CIF SoCal Regional Quaterfinal round after winning the CIF Southern Section championship on Friday night.

St. Augustine played with possession throughout most of the contest, pinning the Wolverines back in their half of the field.  The Saints also had a strong back line that would put the ball back into their opponent's half.

However, senior Luis Sanchez opened the scoring with a shot from 25 yards out on the right side that found the left corner of the net to give Aliso a 1-0 lead.  Carter Futami and Evan Buchs assisted on the goal.  The Wolverines took that one goal lead into halftime.

St. Augustine struck quickly to open the second half as they scored off a rebound shot from a Steele Arlasky save.  Arlasky made a couple of point blank saves to keep the score tied at 1-1.

With just under ten minutes to play, St. Augustine struck again, sneaking a shot into the left corner of the net.

Aliso finishes the season with a 13-1-1 mark.
