The Aliso Boys Varsity Soccer team will play for the CIF Championship as Steele Arlasky made four saves in penalty kicks to propel the Wolverines with a 5-4 PK win.

The game was the toughest for Aliso of their playoff journey as the previously undefeated Valencia High team controlled play in the first half.  Valencia finally broke through with five minutes remaining in the half to take a 1-0 halftime lead.

The second half saw Aliso take advantage of the wind in their favor and kept the ball in the Valencia side.  There were a few chances generated but then sophomore Evan Buchs got the equalizer at the 33-minute mark with a screamer from the right side into the upper corner.  The heroics of Arlasky started with four minutes remaining in the game as he saved a shot from point blank range to keep the score even.

Both sides had a couple of chances off corner kicks in the overtime sessions, but no goal crossed the line, setting up the penalty kicks.

The first five wasn't enough as Arthur Heilman, Evan Buchs and Luis Sanchez scored for a 3-3 draw.  Sudden death penalty kicks was next and Nkosi Sampson converted Aliso's eighth chance while Arlasky save Valencia's eighth chance to secure the victory.

Aliso will play the winner of Santiago/Hart next weekend.  Game date and time to be determined on Monday.
