    Aliso Wins Opener, 2-0, Over Orange High

    Aliso Niguel High School opened up their 2022-23 season with a 2-0 victory over Orange High School tonight at Wolverine Stadium.  The varsity squad had early control of the game with several shots attempted at the Orange goalkeeper.  Despite dominating possession, the first half ended scoreless.  Just six minutes into the second half, junior Grant Snyder scored on an assist by Tyler Queen.  Junior goalkeeper Ethan Sullivan kept Orange off the scoresheet, making a save on a shot from 12 yards out.  Junior Talan Chauncey sealed the victory with just eight minutes remaining, scoring Aliso's second goal.

    In the JV game, Aliso also won 2-0.  Both Wolverine goals came in the first half.  Just one minute into the contest, junior Mattia Ledda scored on a nice pass from junior Yousef Affifi.  Sophomore Harry Arnold scored an unassisted goal just before the halftime break.

    Season Opener on Thursday

    The Aliso Boys Soccer team opens up the 2022-23 campaign on Thursday, December 1 as they host Orange High School.  Varsity will kick off at 4pm followed by the JV squad at 5:30pm.  Both games will be played in Wolverine Stadium.

    Aliso Niguel moved up to CIF Southern Section Division 1 in 2022 after winning the CIF Division 2 title in the spring of 2021.  They will compete in the South Coast League against Capo Valley HS, San Clemente HS, Mission Viejo HS and San Juan Hills HS.  The season opens November 14 with league play beginning January 11.
